Organiser's Description

Herefordshire's traditional super sprint triathlon has been organised by Hereford Triathlon Club for three decades. It's an ideal race for beginners and people who are having a go at triathlon for the first time. In 2024 the race will once again take place at Leominster Leisure Centre.

The event will be held under the guidance of British Triathlon and with the permission of Herefordshire Council, West Mercia Police, Halo Leisure and the Earl Mortimer College. In order to keep the competitors, volunteers, staff and local people safe and reassured, it’s essential for everybody to abide by the necessary rules and guidance. These will be provided in advance of the race.

You will start in waves of 6 swimmers who will be allocated staggered times 5 minutes apart from 0900. The start times will be arranged according to your estimated swim speed and the start list will be published in the week before the race.

We can guarantee you a beautiful course through the Herefordshire countryside, friendly marshals, a simple well-marked route, chip timing and lots of vocal support.

The race is organised by the members of Hereford Triathlon Club and we aim to make it as relaxed and friendly as possible.  Any money that we make gets used to help the club run throughout the year.

You'll start by swimming 400 metres in the indoor pool before heading to transition next door at the Earl Mortimer College.

The 11-12 mile bike course is undulating but fast and you'll head out of town and towards Bromyard on the A44, turning around 5-6 miles in and ready for the downhill section!

Back to the school and the 5k run takes you around the town of Leominster including some of the historic sites before finishing at the school.

An ideal race for beginners, novices and those wanting a super fast sprint.  Athletes must be a minimum of 18 years old at the time of entry, unless otherwise agreed.

If you find that you can't enter the race or the race has to be called off due to the pandemic or extreme weather, we will be able to refund you as much of your entry fee as we can but, due to the pandemic, we cannot guarantee a full refund. The cancellation of both our 2020 events and the full refunds given to all competitors cost our club thousands of pounds.

We guarantee you that we will not profit should the race not be able to take place but we may have incurred non-refundable costs for equipment, venue hire etc. It is not possible to insure ourselves against the pandemic without substantially increasing the entry fees.

We strongly advise you to take out personal insurance either through entry central or a separate broker which will provide you with full race cover.

Competitors are not permitted to sell or transfer their entry to another person. Should you be unable to race and wish to transfer your entry we are able to do this on your behalf as long as you contact us by email by May 19th 2024 Deferal only. No refunds or deferals will be given within 14 days of the race taking place.  No exceptions.

The race is taking place at Leominster Leisure Centre - please make sure that you go to the right place.

Entries to the race close a week before - on May 26th 2024 - so please make sure you don't leave it too late to enter.

A list of start times will be on the club's website in the days before the event.

The start times are organised by your estimated swim time so please understand that you may not be starting close to your friends if you have different swim times.

Thanks and good luck
