Details: Sunday 18th June 2017 marks the 3rd annual 10k race in Steeple Bumpstead. This will be combined with a 3k Fun Run
Course : This is multi-terrain event. Starting in the centre of Steeple Bumpstead, the course takes you via a combination of grass tracks and private roads past the stunning Elizabethan Manor House of Moyns Park and into the picturesque village of Birdbrook. From here a gravel track takes runners back towards Steeple Bumpstead, to follow the course of the Bumpstead Brook. A final short loop is followed by a downhill dash, finishing with a run through the church yard, into the playing fields to the sound of a roaring crowd! There will be 1 water station along the route. Water will also be available after the finish funnel. There are no road closures in operation. It is your responsibility to abide by the highway-code at all times. We would therefore recommend that you do not wear any headphones during this race.
Race Number: Please collect your race number from registration on race morning from 9am. Your number is not transferable. The number should be securely fastened to the front of your vest and be clearly visible at all times. Please bring ID with you to collect your race number. Please bring safety pins if you can.
Car Parking: Parking for runners is available in the Village Hall car park or on the playing fields behind the Village Hall, near the start. Please follow the directions of the marshals. Please do not park in the residential roads near to the Village Hall.
There are limited opportunities to park on the course given the narrow roads. If you do park outside the playing fields, please do not block drives or entrances to fields, as this event relies on the continued support of the local community and farmers.
Baggage: This can be left in the race HQ, at the owner’s risk. Please use the labels provided to mark your race number on your bag. This area is secure and will be manned at all times, although we cannot accept liability for loss or damage. Your race number will be needed to collect your bag once the race has ended.
Finish: At the finish please proceed steadily through the funnel and keep in finishing order as you do so. Do not remove your number before getting through the funnel. Medals and water are available after you leave the finish area.
Prizes: The award ceremony will take place outside the Village Hall as soon as possible after the race has finished, estimated to be between 12:00 and 12:30. All runners are encouraged to stay for the presentation.
A provisional list of results will be displayed as soon as they become available. A full list of results will be published on our website at www.steeplebumpsteadpreschool.co.uk as soon as possible after the race.
Refreshments: Refreshments will be available inside the Village Hall, along with a BBQ outside.
Information and On Day Entries: The on day entries desk will open at approximately 9am in the race HQ. If you have any problems or queries on the day, please ask at the information desk in the Village Hall. On day entries will close promptly at 10.15am to allow you to get to the start.
Family Event: In conjunction with the 10k race, we are also running a 3k Fun Run. We hope that family members of 10k runners will join in with this event. Information on this event can be found at www.steeplebumpsteadpreschool.co.uk
