16th Kilmaurs Gala 5K Fun Run is now full, but you may join the Waiting List.

Organiser's Description

KILMAURS GALA invites you to take part in the 16th annual Kilmaurs Gala 5k Fun Run on Wednesday 31st July 2024. The event was initially organised for fun runners and those new to running and has continued to attract great reviews for this approach. However, in recent years the winning times have all been sub 16 minutes indicating that the faster racers are attracted to the course as well.

FUN RUN ENTRY

To ensure that we maximise entrants experience we have placed a limit on numbers to a maximum of 300. There will be a waiting list in operation for use in the event of all places being taken. Contact the organiser if you cannot take part.

There will be NO entries taken on the day and all participants will require to enter on-line prior to the event. To avoid swapping or transferring of numbers participants shoudl be able to provide photo ID at registration.

ELECTRONIC TIMING

2024 will continue with electronic timing courtesy of Whats My Time. Pick-up your chip and number on the night of the event at registration.

SCOTTISH ATHLETICS

Kilmaurs Gala 5k is held Under UK Athletics Rules and is a scottishathletics Licensed Event.

REGISTRATION OPENS AT 5:00pm. AS A PRE-ENTRY YOU ONLY NEED TIME TO COLLECT YOUR CHIP & NUMBER. HOWEVER, AS REGISTRATION IS ALWAYS BUSY PLEASE COME EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH.

THE COURSE

The run starts (and finishes) on the running track in Morton Park in Kilmaurs village. The first 1.5Km are within the confines of the park and then it’s out on to the Kilmarnock Road and countryside. The highest point of the course is at the 3.5Km mark and from this point is downhill all the way back to the track again for the finish. The 2024 event will use the same fast course as 2023.
