14th Kilmaurs Gala 5K Fun Run
27 Jul 2022
KILMAURS GALA invites you to take part in the 14th annual Kilmaurs Gala 5k Fun Run on Wednesday 27th July 2022. The event was initially organised for fun runners and those new to running and has continued to attract great reviews for this approach. However, in recent years the winning times have all been sub 16 minutes indicating that the faster racers are attracted to the course as well.
All information available to the organisers from SAL indicate that the fun run can proceed as planned. However, changes to guidelines and any further restrictions caused by level changes may impact the event and there may also be additional controls necessary to maximise competitor safety. All relevant information will be communicated on the final email sent prior to the event and it is the responsibility of all entrants to ensure that they have read and understood this prior to taking part.
No competitor or spectator should attend the event who exhibit covid symptoms or are in the process of isolating. Refer to the cancellation section for further details.
To avoid congestion and queuing there will be NO entries taken on the day and all participants will require to enter on-line prior to the event.
2022 will continue with electronic timing courtesy of Whats My Time. Pick-up your chip and number on the night of the event at registration.
Kilmaurs Gala 5k is held Under UK Athletics Rules and is a scottishathletics Licensed Event.
There will be the restricted on-field car-parking available. However, as this is a grass surface and Scottish summertime being what it is we cannot guarantee that the surface will be dry. Additional near-by parking is available as below for both local car-parks and on street parking.
CoS Car Park, Kilmarnock Rd - 2 minute walk to registration and race start.
Weston Tavern Car Park, Fenwick Rd - 3 minute walk to registration and race start.
Scotrail Car Park, Crofthead Rd, - 5 minute walk to registration and race start.

Registration is in the Morton Park (KA3 2RB) with (limited) changing and (limited) toilets and a secure baggage area. We have increased the number of toilets available from previous years events.
REGISTRATION OPENS AT 5:30pm. AS A PRE-ENTRY YOU ONLY NEED TIME TO COLLECT YOUR CHIP & NUMBER. HOWEVER, AS REGISTRATION IS ALWAYS BUSY PLEASE COME EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH.
The run starts (and finishes) on the running track in Morton Park in Kilmaurs village. The first 1.5Km are within the confines of the park and then it’s out on to the Kilmarnock Road and countryside. The highest point of the course is at the 3.5Km mark and from this point is downhill all the way back to the track again for the finish. The 2022 event has a slightly altered course in Morton Park that eliminates the grassy section used in 2021 making it faster and better underfoot.
START: Morton Park, Kilmaurs, KA3 2RB at 7:00pm
Entry includes medal for all finishers with prizes in a range of individual and team categories plus loads of spot prizes including Jog Scotland individual and team prizes.
Online entry closing date – 24th July 2022
