Standard Distance : 4Mile(2 lap)RUN, 18MILE (2 lap) BIKE, 2MILE (1 lap) RUN
For the first time we are also runing a shorter distance event this year - the price will be the same for either distance.
Short Distance : 2mile (1 lap) RUN, 9 mile (1 lap) BIKE and 2 mile(1 lap) RUN
The village of Peopleton is off the main A44 (formerly B4084) and is about 4 miles from the M5 Junction 6.
The race is run under the BTF rules, a copy of which will be available at the event should you wish to refer to them. Please allow yourself plenty of time, prior to your start time, to prepare yourself. A map of the course will be on display at registration.
Peopleton Village Hall is the race HQ and we ask you to respect these excellent facilities including showers and two changing rooms, although the showers are unisex! So use your common sense and don’t embarrass either sex please.
On arrival at Peopleton Village Hall, check your race number on the displayed race list and then collect your number at Registration. Please register when you arrive to receive any last minute instructions and for us to tick you off the start list.
The race starts at 0900 outside the Village Hall – it is a mass start.. The start/finish is at the same venue in the Hall Car Park. Parking for the event is in a field on the other side of the road – it will be signed and marshalled. Please respect all facilities and ensure you take any litter home.
Please ensure that when racking your bike you have your helmet with you which will be checked in by the marshal. It should be ASNI standard. Also, in order to aid security, you must attach a supplied bike race number to your bike frame. You will not be able to remove your bike from transition unless your race number is produced for the marshal and corresponds with the bike you wish to remove! You will be given 2 personal race numbers which must be worn on your front and back during the bike and run sections. Rack your bike 30 minutes before the start of the race.
A short race briefing from Race Director and Race Referee will take place 5 minutes before the start on the start line – so please be present. At all times, for your own safety and the safety of your fellow competitors, you must obey the instructions of the marshals. Failure to do so will incur a penalty or even disqualification.
It is a non-drafting race.
The bike course is a mixture of A + B roads and country lanes, it is undulating with only one short uphill drag – nothing to worry about. You complete two laps of 9 miles, ridden anti-clockwise.
The run is flat on country lanes. Each lap is 2 miles so the first run is 2 laps and the second run 1 lap. Please ensure you obey the signs and the marshals’ instructions and say Thank you to all marshals and helpers who will much appreciate it.
You and your supporters will be able to buy refreshments at the venue. Do have a good race and we all look forward to seeing you on the day.
