The Buchlyvie 10k Sat 27th January 2024 is now open !

We are a small community and this is our big day .Please enter and enjoy it with us. We have to limit our  runners to 300 so we may fill this event quickly . We are a trail race and  will have a Scottish Athletics permit.

Registration is in Buchlyvie Village Hall from 11am and the race starts at 1.30pm.

Race numbers ( with embeded time chips) will be available at registration.

The course is out and back, and chip timed. The race begins behind the Primary School turning left onto Station Road for just over half a mile turning right onto the old railway track (predominantly firetrack and flat). The halfway turning point is at Barbadoes Cottage (situated on the old railway track). Jelly babies are available at the turnaround! On the return, the course finishes at the school. The race is run under UK Athletics Rules and is a Scottish Athletics Trail race. We have first aiders, marshals and Lomond  Mountain rescue team.

The course has only one hill and often runners manage PB times ( weather permitting ).

Route maps are available inthe village hall ( on the day) and the route itself is well signposted. The organisers are assisted by Central Scotland Police and voluntary marshalls. There will be a lead bike and a sweeper. The safety of all is paramount and it is a condition of entry that runners follow the instructions of the police and marshalls
