Organiser's Description
The Buchlyvie 10k Sat 26th March 2022 is now open !
We are a small community and this is our big day .Please enter and share it with us. We have to limit our runners to 250 so we will fill this event quickly .
We will adhere to Scottish Government and Scottish Athletic Covid 19 guidelines. Consequently there will be no registration and no prize giving . There will be toilets in the hall and some at the event start.
The event is organised by locals who try their best to make this a great event. The course is out and back,and chip timed. This year race numbers will be sent by post the week before.The race begins behind the Primary School turning left onto Station Road for just over half a mile turning right onto the old railway track (predominantly firetrack and flat). The halfway turning point is at Barbadoes Cottage (situated on the old railway track). On the return the course finishes at the school. The race is run under UK Athletics Rules and is a Scottish Athletics permit event. We have first aiders, marshals and Lomond Mountain rescue team.
Money raised from this event is to help our village hall,Lomond Mountain Rescue and local charities.
THIS YEAR THERE WILL BE NO ON THE DAY ENTRIES.
Race Numbers (timing chips embeded) will be sent out before hand.Race starts at 1.30pm behind the Primary School. There may be refreshments and home baking for sale.Belongings left here are at your own risk.All entrants will receive a biscuit ,fruit and a medal. Water will be available.
Buchyvie has a coffee shop the Coffee Kiln and 1 pub, Tavern1851 .Flanders Rest in the layby has take away drinks and food. There are toilets (20p) in the layby and in the hall. There are no options for gender neutral facilities.
Route maps will be on display in the village hall. The route is well signposted. The organisers are being assisted by Central Scotland Police, and a number of voluntary marshals. The safety of all is paramount and it is a condition of entry that competitors must follow the instructions of the Police and the marshals.
There will be a no prize giving but timing slips are available.The prizes are for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female runners . Only Male and Female categories will be captured in results for ranking purposes.
Parking will be available in the lay-by, the Main Street and limited parking at the school car park. Please note the layby parking is also for Flanders Rest clients and will be stewarded .Please try and share your journey with others. There is a regular bus service which runs from Stirling (No 12).

In event of awful weather or pandemic regulations ,we may be forced to postpone for safety reasons ; the race will be rescheduled and runners informed and automatically reentered.
