Dunton Demon 5 (miler)
WELCOME TO THE RETURN OF THE DUNTON DEMON 5 - 10.00am, 15th September 2024
ENTRIES ON THE DAY - Will be available at £2 additional cost (early bird pricing available online :-)
Online entries open until 9pm Saturday 14th September.
The Essex Wildlife Trust Langdon Nature Discovery Park is is offering the opportunity to run around the challenging paths and trails that make up part of Langdon Hills. This will raise funds for EWT and the charity supported by Phoenix Striders (BENS - Basildon Emergency Night Shelter)
Starting at 10:00am, the 5 mile trail goes up towards Westley Heights and back around the many trails and paths that lead to a circuit of the lake and then returning on a different route climbing again towards the upper levels of the Plotlands before descending down Third Avenue to the finish. All entrants will receive a medal and a chance to purchase refreshments from the centre.
There are no changing facilties at the Centre, but there are toilets inside.
The Centre sells a range of Essex Wildlife Trust gifts and momentos, hot and cold drinks, hot and cold snacks, ice creams and sweets.
Confirmation of entry and full details of parking and transport will be sent to you by email (if supplied) to the email address provided on the entry form.
Race numbers to be collected on the day from the Discovery Centre, so please arrive early to collect your number.
Prizes will be presented on the day as soon as possible after the race has finished and the results compiled.

Basildon Emergency Night Shelter (BENS) - We share compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves and aim to provide a safe, comfortable place for people who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets. We give them a warm welcome, food and a warm bed for the night. All are welcome regardless of race, colour, creed, disability and sex. The volunteers lend a listening ear when needed and supply information about agencies that may be able to help our guests. The Tinnies Toddle Waddle will start at around 11.30am and it is a 1k (1 lap) or 2k (2 laps) event for the little ones to enjoy a non competitive run wearing numbers and receiving a medal at the end of their run (whether they finish or not). Parents are encouraged to run with their children (especially the smaller ones) to help with their confidence and avoid them getting anxious.
