Dunblane Runners
Organiser's Description
We are Dunblane Runners – a small and friendly running club with the aim of bringing adult runners from around the Dunblane area and of all abilities together. We are affiliated to Scottish Athletics, which is what the majority of your membership fee pays towards.
In 2019, with the support of club funds, two of our regular runners became qualified athletic coaches via the Scottish Athletics coaching programme. They regularly volunteer their time to provide us with varied and informal training sessions that we all enjoy.
We are planning to resume club runs from April 29th. We have taken a careful and cautious approach to restarting training, in line with Scottish Athletics guidance.
To begin, we will resume our Thursday night structured training sessions. These are easy to split into covid-secure bubbles if necessary and allow for easy social distancing. Thursday is our interval session: again, suitably adaptable to all abilities. We begin with a warm up jog to different locations where we do a variety of sessions such as hill sprints, sprints, relay loops and so on. We try to keep it fresh and alternate each week. Ready to leave at 6.30pm from the Dunblane Centre.
Whilst covid restrictions are in place you must book your place on a Thursday night training session using the Spond App (do not just turn up at the moment).
