CLUB INFORMATION - CARNEGIE HARRIERS (SCIO 51520)

Carnegie Harriers is a friendly running club which caters for people interested in running over all types of terrain and across a range of distances. Under the supervision of a qualified coach, we offer structured, progressive training which can be adapted to meet the needs of all runners, regardless of speed or ability. The club meets for training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30 pm, giving members time to do a warm up before we start the formal session with group mobility exercises at 6:50 pm.

We are nominally based at Pitreavie Sport and Soccer Centre, Pitreavie Playing Fields, Dunfermline, but we train at various locations in Dunfermline and Rosyth. During the summer months we may hold some off-road or hill training sessions at various locations, and throughout the year we may also organise additional training runs, or recces of race routes, which are open to all members. Full details of the training sessions and locations are sent to members before the start of each new training block..

We welcome new members, whether you are a serious competitor or just wishing to keep fit. If you are thinking of joining the club, please contact the club secretary by email to enquiries@carnegie-harriers.co.uk so that we can tell you more about the club, including details of our training sessions and meeting points. We strongly advise that prospective members come along to a couple of training sessions first, just to make sure the club fits your needs.

Carnegie Harriers organise the very popular Devilla Forest 15K and 5K Trail races which take place in February. We also host the unique Graham Clark Memorial Race in August which gives runners the opportunity to race (on two legs) around Knockhill Racing Circuit, another firm favourite.

Joining Carnegie Harriers is a great way to make new friends. As well as encouraging members to take part in races and relay/team events, we also organise a number of social events throughout the year.

When completing your membership application, it needs to be approved before any payment is taken. This is for administrative purposes to help us ensure that we are aware of your interest in the club.

For more information about the club please visit www.carnegie-harriers.co.uk or visit our official Facebook page www.facebook.com/carnegieharriers/

COVID-19

Although we no longer have to comply with any specific Covid-related restrictions, members attending training and any other club activities are respectfully asked to follow government guidance and, in particular, refrain from coming along if displaying symptoms of any potentially transmissable illness.
