Hereford Triathlon Club Membership 2023
Organiser's Description
Hereford Triathlon Club is a well organised and friendly club with members who range from beginner to veteran.
Our members come to us from across Herefordshire and the Welsh borders.
We are run entirely by volunteers. All of our coaches, committee members and marshals give up their time free of charge. We ask that all club members help the club to continue to flourish by marshalling at one of our events. In 2023 we will be holding two events - the duathlon at the livestock market on 2nd April and the triathlon (date to be announced) at Leominster Leisure Centre.
Hereford’s very first Triathlon took place in 1987 from the Leisure pool before an official club was set up. The first tri was a sprint distance event and one of the first to be held in the region. This inspired several sporting enthusiasts to meet up and in 1988 Hereford Tri Club was officially launched. We are affiliated to Triathlon England and the Cycling Time Trials association.
To this day, the club's ethos remains the same - we're a group of like-minded people who want to encourage anybody to enjoy training and competing in triathlon, regardless of ability, age, size or shape. We're proud to be still known as a friendly bunch who run well organised races.
To take part in our swimming sessions you are required to be able to swim 400m front crawl. There is no speed requirement.
We cater for adults from 16 years and upwards (and upwards, there's no upper limit!) If you're aged from 7 to 16 and are interested in taking up triathlon please contact Ludlow Triathlon Club.
If you'd like a taster session before joining, please email us at herefordtriathlonclub@hotmail.com.
Happy training and racing
