Welcome to the seventh Chapelton of Elsick 10K. This event is NOT a closed road race. It is an undulating multi terrain race through the beautiful Elsick House estate, starting and finishing in Chapelton near Newtonhill. Please read our race notes thoroughly to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race. The majority of the route is on tarmac with some farm tracks and a short grass section. All standards of runners are very welcome!
Entry fee for the first 100 entries is £24 and then £28 for 250 entries. Members of Scottish Athletics and the Association of Running Clubs (ARC) will get a discount of £2.00 off the entry. The race will be held under ARC rules.

This year there is a slight change to the course
PLEASE NOTE - the race is predominantly ran on roads which remain open to traffic. All runners are responsible for their own safety and must ensure that they remain aware of other road users at all times. All runners must adhere to the instructions from marshals and other race officials during the race.
The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Running with buggies or pets is not permitted.
Registration: Will take place from 09:00 - 10:30am at The Hut, Greenlaw Road, Chapelton. All pre-entered runners must register on the day to collect their race number. You must collect your own race number and random ID checks will be done. There will be an option of a bag drop too.
Chip Timing: This years race is chip timed, provided by Perfect Timing.
Race Briefing: There will be a race safety brief at 10:55am.
Start Time: The race will start prompt from near Hume Square at 11am.
Race Finish: The race will finish near Hume Square.
Water Station: This will be just after the 5k point.
First Aid: There will be First Aid at both the Start/Finish area and at the Water Station.
Headphones: We cannot permit the use of in-ear headphones, as part of the route is on a single carriageway road that is NOT closed to traffic. Bone conducting headphones and medically prescribed earphones are permitted, the use of all other in-ear headphones will lead to disqualification.
Refreshments: Available at Hume Square after the race for all runners. The Boxes @ Chapelton offer a variety of food and drinks.
Toilets: Available close to registration. There will be no showers.
Prize Giving: Will take place from approximately 12:30pm at Hume Square.
Prize Categories: Trophies (and £50 £40 £30 respectively) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female finishers. Trophies (and cash prize) for 1st Male and Female under 18 and 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female over 40, over 50, over 60 and 1st Male and female over 70. The Chapelton Residents Shield will be awarded to the first Male and Female Chapelton Resident to finish. All finishers will receive a unique medal and a Chapelton 10k memento.
Spot Prizes: Please retain your race number to be in with a chance to win a spot prize. This will take place after the prize giving.
Entry: This is online entry only at Entry Central, and entries will close on the 30th June 2026. Members of Scottish Athletics and the Association of Running Clubs (ARC) will receive a discount of £2.00.
Entry Transfer: If you can no longer take part in the event, we are allowing transfers which must be carried out via your own Entry Central account by our deadline of 30th June 2026. No transferring of numbers can be done after this date as this is against ARC rules and could result in you being banned from future events. If you are having difficulties please contact the Race Director.
General Information: There is plenty parking available in and around Chapelton.
Please follow all instructions from the marshals as they are there to ensure your safety.
Online entries will close at midnight on 30th June 2026. EntryCentral will show the race as 'Closed' after this time. Entries will not be accepted on race day.
