BUTE HIGHLAND GAMES

10 K ROAD RACE

The Organising Committee of Bute Highland Games are pleased to announce that the Games will go ahead this year on 24th August 2024.

The 10K race has established itself as a firm fixture in running club diaries with many considering that the route, with views over the Clyde estuary, Loch Striven and the Kyles of Bute, encompassing some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland, is one of the most spectacular.

Competitors leave the Games' Stadium at approximately 3.00.pm, travelling down through the town then turning northwards along the coast road, passing the Skeoch Woods and Ardbeg Point then on to Port Bannatyne where they turn back along the route to the finish line in the Stadium with spectators cheering the runners along the way.

Yet again we have listened to our increasing number of competitors and taken a leap of faith in organising what we hope to be one of your running highlights of the year. We will be continuing to use a ‘Chip to Chip’ time system that is embedded within your race number. This will allow us to provide immediate race results that are accurate and available to all.

Changing facilities and showers will be available at the Leisure Centre which is adjacent to the Park.  The Leisure Centre will close at 6pm.

We hope you have a fantastic time and wish you all the best.
