Bishopbriggs 5 Miler
The Bishopbriggs 5 Miler is a community event organised by Springburn Harriers. This friendly event will see runners traverse an entirely off-road route, starting on the canal near Cadder Bridge, running out on tarmacked tow-paths westwards towards Lambhill, before completing a loop of the scenic Possil Marsh, and returning back, finishing near the bridge at Leisuredrome. Event registration closes at 6.40 to allow runners time to jog up to the start line.
ENTRIES
The event will be limited to 200 entries. The entry fee is £10.00. NO entries will be accepted on the day due to health & safety/logistic reasons. Please note that entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferable. As per Scottish Athletics guidance, entrants should be aged 15 and over on the day.
EVENT TIMINGS
The 5 mile event will take place on Wednesday 26th August at 7pm.
Event registration: 6pm to 6.40pm
Event briefing: 6.55pm
Event start: 7pm
EVENT START
The event starts on the canal near Cadder Bridge.
REGISTRATION
Registration will be from 6pm to 6.40pm and will be in the squash courts, upstairs at the Leisuredrome. At registration, you will be provided with your bib number – bib is required to be visible at all times to the front, no objects should obstruct the bib, including vests. Please detail emergency contact details and health information on the back of your event bib. This is not a chip timed event.
PARKING
There are various parking options around the Leisuredrome or near Cadder Bridge. Please park responsibly in the surrounding streets, not in the Leisuredrome carpark.
TOILETS
There are toilets in the Leisuredrome.

FIRST AID/SAFETY
Events like this can be strenuous and the organisers cannot accept responsibility for any accidents or injuries. By entering this event, you are confirming you understand that participation at this event is at your own risk. First Aid teams will be present on event day and deployable to any medical issues encountered. Anyone withdrawing during the event should report to the nearest marshal.
Headphones: due to safety reasons, only bone conducting headphones are allowed.
EMERGENCY CONTACTS/MEDICAL INFORMATION
Please ensure you write your emergency contact details on the reverse of your event number. Please also include any medical information which may assist the first aid team in the event of injury or illness.
DISTANCE MARKERS
Markers will be in place at mile intervals.
REFRESHMENTS
There will be water available on completion of the event.
RESULTS
The event will be timed, and full event results will be provided by Springburn Harriers within 24 hours.
