Organiser's Description

Now in its sixth year, this  charity sportive is organised by the Rotary Club of Ayr.  We are offering a memorable and enjoyable cycling challenge in some of Scotland's best scenery while raising funds to support smaller local charities, community organisations and other good causes in Ayrshire.

Participants have the choice of four routes:

The Short : 50 miles 4000ft climb

The Medium : 64 miles 5500ft climb

The Long : 82 miles 6860ft climb

The Epic : 102 miles 8680 ft climb

The routes and GPX files are available on the website www.ayrshire-alps.org

The event has timing facilities and we ask for a donation of £40  for the charity, rather than an entry fee.  Because the proceeds go to charity, if you are able to tick the box for gift aid on the entry form then this is a great additional benefit.  Participants may choose to raise additional funds through sponsorship if they wish but this is not required.

Our routes take in some of Southern Scotland's best scenery and there are loads of great climbs and descents- the clue is in the name, this is the Ayrshire Alps for sure! Whatever route you choose you will be sustained by great sandwiches and home baking provided by our team at the feed stations as well as bananas and health bars for that added sustenance
