Around Cumbrae 10 Mile Road Race

Date: Sunday 31st July 2022
Start Time: 2.00 pm. Timing will be by "What's My Time?" so arrive in good time to collect your chip and race number. Entries close on 28th July or when limit is reached. If you wish to communicate with the organiser, or if you are withdrawing please give your race number so that you can be quickly located. The course has a certificate of accuracy stating it is exactly 10 miles long.
All finishers will receive a medal and free refreshment will be available in the marquee before the prizegiving.
Limit: 350 runners. Minimum Age:18 years on day of race. Entry fee £14.00 (members of SA) £16.00 (non-members). NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY. Please enter early to avoid disappointment. The race is on the road that goes round the island, the B896, and goes in an anti-clockwise direction. It is very flat apart from a slope very near the end! There is a regular ferry service from Largs pier and the journey takes a little over 10 minutes(www.calmac.co.uk/timetables) . A bus to Millport meets every ferry at the jetty. Free refreshments after the race and medals to all finishers. THIS RACE INCORPORATES THE AYRSHIRE 10 MILE ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS. This is a Scottish Athletics Licensed event conducted under UK Athletics Rules. Bib numbers and Chips will NOT be mailed out. They should be collected from the Marquee, Millport, which is opposite the Town Hall. Changing is at the DA Hall for men and in a cordoned off area of the marquee for women. Please bring a copy of the e-mail sent to you by Entry Central which shows your bib number or have it available on your phone.
A UK ATHLETICS RULE STATES THAT FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS, HEADPHONES MUST NOT BE WORN DURING THE RACE. RUNNERS RISK DISQUALIFICATION IF THIS RULE IS IGNORED.
Age Group Categories:
Male: 18-39, at least 40, at least 50, at least 60, at least 70.
Male Team: 1st Team (4 to count).
Female: 18-39, at least 40, at least 50, at least 60, at least 70.
Female Team:1st Team (3 to count) Team places are obtained by combining the times of the counting runners.
