ESCAPE TO ABERDOVEY 6km
This is more than a special swim, it is a unique experience.
You will board the Jet Boat belonging to The Outward Bound Trust and cruise 6km upstream to Smuggler's Cove. Along the way you will have a chance to take in the beautiful village of Aberdovey from a special perspective on the estuary... you will also no doubt be reccying the route of your upcoming swim!
At Smuggler's Cove you will "jump ship" and start your epic 6k swim back to Aberdovey beach.
This unique swim is limited to 12 particiapnts, enter early to avoid disappointment.
Although this is the longest swim in distance it is possible that the Beat The Tide 4k will actually be the tougher swim because there will be some swimming against the tide. For the Escape To Aberdovey swim you will have tidal assistance for most of the way... both swims will be special!
BEAT THE TIDE 4km
This is quite a special swim, one of the most beautiful estuary swims in the UK. The level of challenge is not to be underestimated.
You will start on the beach just west of the Jetty. The swim takes you around Aberdovey Wharf and Jetty, on past the picturesque village and Penhelig corner. You will then carry on past Picnic Island and The Outward Bound Trust up to a big yellow house, and to what looks like a small castle (Trefri) on an island.
This "castle" will be the turnaround point, at high tide it sits on an island reminiscent of something out of an Enid Blyton adventure! Hopefully the tide will turn just as you do...

SUNDAY - Introduction to SWIMRUN
Entered your first swimrun race? Unsure about swimrun gear? Or just curious about this fabulous and unique race format?
Then come along to this swimrun workshop, get hands on with swimrun gear and experiment with it in a safe and supportive environment. It's a great way to meet some other like minded people and potentially meet a future race / training partner.
Towards the end of the workshop we will mimic a short swimrun over a few short legs. There will be a key focus on towing, transitions, and kit management. We will stick together as a group so there will be no competitive element to it. We’ll move at a comfortable pace for the group.
The workshop will be 10:00 - 12:30, meeting point is at The Jetty in Aberdovey.

Mike is founder of WESWIMRUN.org and has been competing internationally in the OtillO Swimrun World Series since 2014. He has competed in Sweden, Switzerland, Croatia, and of course the UK!
This swim will start on the beach just west of the Jetty. It is the route of the Cerist Triathlon, last held in 2015.
The swim takes you around Aberdovey Wharf and Jetty (with slight tidal assistance), on past the picturesque village and up to Penhelig corner where a large Buoy will mark the turnaround point. Swim back to the beach with a little tidal assistance towards the end of your swim.
The turnaround point may present some swimming against a slight tidal flow depending on when you get to the turnaround point!
It's one of the most picturesque and interesting 1.5km swims in the UK.
The Classic is open to Under 18s, please get in touch if you want to enter in the Under 18s category - firstname.lastname@example.org
