Angus Bike Chain Cycling Club Monikie Park Winter Duathlon SERIES NOTES AND GUIDANCE 2019 / 2020
Welcome to the Angus Bike Chain Cycling Club Monikie Park Winter Duathlon Series.
Monikie Country Park, Panmure Road, Monikie DD5 3QN, will once again be the venue for the whole series.
The format of the series will stay the same as in 2018/9. There will be 3 rounds in the series with the overall times from all 3 rounds counting towards the overall prizes.
Round One
Please note there will be an earlier than usual 10:00 start.
Round Two
12 January 2020, will be a 4km run, 21.5 km cycle and 4 km run.
11:00 start.
Round Three
9 Febuary 2020, will be a 4km run, 21.5 km cycle and 4 km run.
11:00 start.
If one of the original rounds is postponed or cancelled due to weather or some other circumstances, that round will roll over to the next date. A fourth date, if required to complete three races in the series, will be SUNDAY 08 March 2020. This date will not be changed but will only be required if one of the three earlier scheduled rounds is postponed.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU CAN TAKE PART ON THE SPARE DATE (IF REQUIRED) BEFORE YOU ENTER THE SERIES, AS A REFUND WILL NOT BE OFFERED IF YOU LATER FIND THAT YOU CANNOT.
Run Route:
The runs will be held within the Monikie Park, around the reservoirs and through a wooded area. The route is flat, on grass or compacted earth and will be clearly marked.
Run is one Lap of the North Pond one lap of the South Pond 4.08km

The cycle section is held on undulating roads in the local area around Monikie, leaving and returning via the park south gate. Take care when cycling on the roads and in the Park. Helmets must be worn during the cycle section.
PLEASE NOTE NO DRAFTING ON THE CYCLE SECTION.
Race numbers are to be returned after each event.
Race Age Categories for 2019 / 2020
JUNIOR Male and Female – (aged 16 to 19 as at 31.12.19)
SENIOR Male and Female - (aged 20 to 39 as at 31.12.19)
VETERAN Male and Female - (aged 40 to 49 as at 31.12.19)
SUPER VETERAN Male and Female - (aged 50 to 59 as at 31.12.19)
VINTAGE Male and Female- (aged 60+ as at 31.12.19)
Super Vintage Male and Female - (aged 70+ as at 31.12.19)
Prizes:
Adult prize money this year is £50, £40, £30, for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, overall in both male and female categories.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each age category (both male and female competitors) for the series overall (how many is dependant on entrant numbers by category).
Entry fees are £60 for Home Nations licence holders ie Triathlon Scotland members and BTA Members and £60 for Non Home Nations Licence holders.
TRIATHLON SCOTLAND MEMBERSHIP CARDS WILL BE INSPECTED AT SIGN ON. Please bring them to the first race.

Directions
Monikie Country Park is signposted from the A92 between Dundee and Arbroath. Turn north onto the B962, go through Newbigging and up the hill. Turn left at the Memorial Hall and the main entrance to the park is 400m on the right. Car parking is within the park.

Refund Policy At the organiser's discretion, 50% refunds (minus credit card processing fees) will be issued to any competitor who withdraws from the event more than 28 days before the event. Withdrawals after that date will be refunded if, and only if the competitors place can be filled from a waiting list. No Refunds will be issued after the event closing date.

'You agree that we may publish your personal information as part of the results of the event, and will pass such information to any governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance, licences, or the publishing of results, either for the event alone, or combined with, or compared to other events. Results may include, but are not limited to first name, surname, date of birth, age category, result, penalties and any club / home country / regional affiliation.'
