ENTRIES: PRE-ENTRY ONLY - STRICTLY NO ENTRY ON THE DAY. Entry fee £20.00 by 18th September. For safety reasons, no substitution of entrants’ names will be permitted. Online entrants @ Entrycentral will receive a confirmation email.

REGISTRATION: From 11am, next to the tearoom in the grounds of Traquair House, or as directed. Runners may either make their own way to Traquair House or reserve a place on the race bus service from Broughton.

RACE BUSES: Buses will be available to transport runners from the finish at Broughton to the start at Traquair House. Buses depart from in front of Broughton Primary School at 10.00am sharp, and will drop runners off at the main gates of Traquair House. You should proceed directly to registration upon alighting from the bus.

TOILETS are available in Broughton Village and beside registration at Traquair House.

RUNNERS KIT not worn in the race should be placed in the kit van at the start for transporting to Broughton Village Hall near the finish. Please ensure that kit is clearly marked with your name and/or race number.

FULL EMERGENCY KIT comprising wind and waterproof full body cover, map of the entire race route, orienteering-type compass, whistle and food equivalent to a chocolate bar must be carried by all runners. Strict kit checks will be performed at the start (all - no exceptions) and finish. Any runner not complying will be disqualified.

SAFETY: This race is an arduous event which should not be undertaken by runners who are unfit, or are inexperienced in the hills. Runners must be at least 18 years old. The organisers cannot accept any liability for any accident or injuries. No accompanying dogs are allowed.

HILL RESCUE COVER will be provided by Moffat Mountain Rescue Team.

THE START will be on the lawn in front of the courtyard gates at Traquair House, at 12 noon on Saturday 23rd September.

TRAQUAIR HOUSE: We are fortunate to be allowed to start the race again this year from the grounds of this famous historic house. Please do not drop litter, trample flowers, damage lawns, display banners or climb gates. Refreshments may be on sale in the Tearoom within the grounds.

FLAGGED SECTIONS: The course, though normally unmarked, may require to be marked in places because of, e.g., a grouse shoot, etc. Runners must follow the road into Broughton from Ratchill Farm. Failure to follow any flagged sections will result in disqualification.

APPROACH TO TRAHENNA: True North have advised they are erecting a deer fence around the Stobo estate that will cut off the direct (steep) approach to Trahenna (this is the route marked on the race map), so runners will need to proceed instead via Louden Knowe Wood in order to cross at a new gate at Louden Knowe (72/142372). Climbing the deer fence is strictly forbidden, and will result in immediate disqualification.
