Welcome to Tweed Triathlon Club

Founded in 2012, Tweed Triathlon club is England’s most northerly Triathlon Club.

As a community club it brings together people who share a passion for Triathlon catering for novices through to international champions.  Whether your goal is just to keep fit or to compete we will support that ambition encouraging you to progress, keep focussed, and hopefully enter competitions and events.

Training

The club have 3 coaches.  Coaching is primarily aimed at sprint distances but is suitable for all distances.  Regular weekly swimming is held at the Berwick Sport and Leisure Centre every Monday and Wednesday from 7-8pm at a cost of £5.  This fee covers the pool entry, coaching and insurance.

Additional training includes spinning (Thursday evening 7:30- 8.15), with other activities organised periodically including brick sessions, bike skills, and transitions as well as educational talks – these are advertised via Facebook. 

Specific running and cycling is supported via sister clubs in Berwick (Tweed Stridres and Berwick Wheelers) through reduced membership rates for Trialthlon members

Racing

We encourage members to compete in races though out the year – the 2 main local series are:

·        The Borders Series: liveborders.org.uk - @ Galashiels, Selkirk, Kelso, Peebles and Eyemouth

·        The North East Series (Northerntrier) @ Berwick, Alnwick, Hartlepool, Redcar, Castle/Derwent 

        Multiple other events are posted on Facebook throughout the year.

     We recommend that you become a member of Triathlon England or Triathlon Scotland, your national governing body.  Not only are you then supporting the development of the sport, but as part of your membership you are also covered by Triathlon England's comprehensive insurance policy whilst training and competing in sanctioned events.  

      By holding membership (and a race licence) you are eligible for reduced price race entry at many events and will receive extensive discounts from a variety of retailers.
