TRAINING HYPE OR A PILE OF S*@~E!!!

An evening workshop to help you raise your training game.  This is suitable for all endurance sport not just triathlon.  It is also useful development for coaches.  Your presenter has worked full time in sport for 25 yrs including international sports science, international coaching level including multiple medals at both elite and age group level but also works daily with all levels of athletes.

NORWEGIAN HYPE - It's become a go to phrase recently. Two triathletes taking the world by storm over Olympic, middle and Ironman distance. They are brutally rigorous - logging and controlling everything, data / science driven. Loads of interesting concepts regarding volume, intensity, long term development etc. some of it goes alongside well established training concepts. Some is considered revolutionary by many. We are increasingly living in an era of data, technology, products and marketing. What is useful vs hype? What data should you be aware of and logging / controlling? What technology should you be investing in? Can we learn anything important from previous era's of training?

What does this mean for you? What if you are time poor with only 4-6hrs per week to train? What if you have 10 hrs? Or 15-20hrs? What if you are weak? Or stiff? Over or underweight? What if you aren’t 20-30yrs old? What if you are over 50? What if you have kids who are training hard - what should they do?
We will work through theory and case studies both past and present, challenge your thinking and cut through the hype to give you a better understanding of where you are at and what you might wish to work at changing. There will be chances to ask questions and we will head for a drink afterwards for those who wish to continue the debate.
