Organiser's Description

With freshened up routes for 2025, A halfway campsite, with great food, a bar, on completing the ride, you’ll be greeted with an item to treasure plus an after party for those wishing to hang around.

Ride info:

  • Event start and finish - The Pelican Inn Gloucester. (Details below)

  • Format: a self supported bikepacking adventure over 2 days with halfway campsite laid on.

  • Terrain: Cotswolds singletrack, woodland, country lanes, gravel ups and downs and maybe some mud, (Who knows).

  • Navigation by suitable GPS device or phone. (Make sure your battery will last the day) You will supplied a pub guide, which shos distance and establishments on route.

  • Start time: The ride starts at 9am on Saturday 5th July. Its not a race so you don't have to rush to start but we ask you to leave before 9.15am.

  • The Routes: 100 miles, 50 per day. For 2025 there is a special feature on the second day. “The Dunk”! This was the late, Duncan Kennedy’s idea for the 2025 event, Duncan passed away in July 2024. It seems only fitting to name this after him. Day 1 route is tougher than day 2, details and route will be emailed to you a week prior to the start date.

  • Alternative route: If you feel you've had enough after the first day, you can sit out the rest of the weekend and enjoy a beer, whilst others suffer, or not as ther case might be.

KIT list:

  • A Bike: If your bike is suitable for riding offroad over rough terrain and can carry everything you need for the weekend then that’s the bike for this event. And yes a Gravel bike will be fine if you are used to rough terrain. (SORRY. NO E-BIKES) Ebikes really complicate things with charging batteries, bike specification (ie not homemade) It just adds complications, staff, workload and insurance costs.

  • Proper outdoor clothing to cope with all manner of conditions, last year we had rain one day, blazing sun the next.

  • Snacks for the journey.
