Selworthy Beacon - Sunday 19th July 2026 – Registration is 08:30 - 09:45 & race starts 10:00

A traditional fell run of approx 4 miles ascending/descending 1000ft to/from Selworthy Beacon. Starting from Bossington National Trust car park, heading through Hurlstone Combe, up to Selworthy Beacon and returning back to the Bossington National Trust car park. There are compulsory checkpoints at the bottom of Hurlstone Combe, the Trig Point at Selworthy Beacon and again at the bottom of Hurlstone Combe.

The route is entirely off-road with most on the open moorland of Exmoor. Whilst providing a challenge it is within the capabilities of most runners. After the race visit Really Wild Coffee who will be set-up within the car park.

Race Headquarters is at the Bossington National Trust car park. The start/finish is across the bridge on the public footpath. Parking will be available at the Bossington National Trust car park, please car share where possible as the car park is still open to the public. Parking is available around Selworthy Beacon and within Porlock, it is then possible to arrive via a short journey on foot.

Prizes for the first male, female and age categories will be awarded.

No mementoes – reflected in the low entry fee. On the day entries accepted providing the race is not full, £12:00 for FRA menbers & £14:00 for non-FRA runners.

Held under the rules of the Fell Runners Association, race classification BS.

In keeping with the traditions and skills required of British fell racing, self-navigation is required by all runners, there are 'zero' course markers. There will be a marshall at the bottom of Hurlstone Combe and at Selworthy Beacon. Getting a little lost is part of every fell runner’s journey, so don’t worry! The race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association. Please see the mandatory kit requirements on the South West Fell Runners & Fell Runners Association websites. During registration on race day, the kit requirement will be announced as it is weather dependant. The race is self navigating so you will need to carry a map and compass if not familiar with the course (and know how to use them)!
