Organiser's Description

Come and try an introductory navigation course for hill runners.

This is aimed for runners wanting to learn basic map reading, using a compass and looking at picking routes.

We will meet in Arrochar, Loch Long car park at 9.30am.  Please note there is a car park charge for this car park (not included). Consider car sharing or alternatively the train station is just a 20 minute walk along the road.

Please come dressed in your running gear (there will be a lot of stopping to talk about navigation as we go, so please pack a warm layer, hat, gloves and waterproofs as well as water and food/snacks for yourself) and we will go for a run!

The ground will likely be very wet, so good grippy trail shoes will be great.

Maps will be supplied, if you have a compasss please bring that along, but there will also be spares available on the day.

Places are very limited. Just 10 spots available at the subsidised rate of £10 per person.

Who will lead this?

Saki Nakamura is an experience mountain leader and ultra runner based in Glasgow. Her qualifications include National Navigation Award Scheme and Summer Mountain Leader.

Her running exploits are too numerous to recount here. An "Audience with Saki" could be a future event!
