The 5K Route

Builth & District Running Club's Resolution Run 5k has been held for a number of years and growing in popularity.  The race is run mostly within the Royal Welsh Showground and takes advantage of their facilities.  Amendments were made to the route last year.  The small hill of past years is no longer included which provides a flatter surface with better PB potential. These changes proved popular with all runners wanting to start the new year with a fast time or those just wanting a fun early year fitness test.

The Trail 10k  

Fancy a challenge? New for this year, Builth and District have expanded the Resolution event to include an off-road Trail 10k (ish).

Starting and finishing alongside the Road 5k in the Showground's Forestry section, you'll take a lap of the main ring before heading out into the fields, woodland and trails beyond. Expect a mix of trail, forest track, grass and tarmac .... and yes, there will be mud and water (possibly frozen, depending on Mother Nature's mood!).

👟 Trail shoes are a must — leave the spikes at home. Bring a towel and warm kit to change into, as showers aren't available.

Parking

There is plenty of parking on hard standing at the Showground. Please follow signs and marshals' directions.

Entry Fees - for either race

In advance  £12.00 (UKA affiliated), £14.00 non-affiliated).

On the day accepted at £14 (affiliated, £16 non-affiliated). BUT....  there is a limit to the number of runners so please register early to avoid disappointment.

Advance entries will close at 8pm on Friday 29rd January.

MINIMUM AGE FOR 5K: 11 years on day of race,  TRAIL 10K: 17 years on day of race. 

NB. Under 18s require parent/guardian consent

Timings

9:30 - Registration to collect race numbers and on the day entries open

10:30 - Registration closes

10:30 - Guided one loop warm up round the course (Road Race only) 

10:50 - Race briefing at the start (Road Race) at Registration (Trail Race)

11:00 - Race starts

Prizes

First three men and women; first man and woman in age categories (excluding first three runners overall) Under 17 (5k race), V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70+.

Results

Chip Timing from Ready, Set, Go

Results will be published on our website  https://builthanddistrictrc.com/the-resolution-run/   and Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/BuilthRC/  as soon as possible after the race is completed.

Results will be loaded to Power of 10.

Race Licences for each race via UKA/ Welsh Athletics.  Licence Numbers to be confirmed

To take place promptly after the last person has finished.

Car parking and toilets on site. Refreshments will be available. 

Transfer and Deferral

Note that we will be unable to accept requests for refund, transfer or deferral once you have signed-up.  In the case of event postponement your entry will be carried over to the new date.
