Organiser's Description

The Nairn Triathlon is brought to you by Triathlon Inverness, and supported by Triathlon Scotland. With beautiful bike and run courses through the Nairnshire countryside and with views over the Moray Firth to greet you at the finish line, whichever race you choose we hope it will be an enjoyable event for all.

There are three race distances for you to choose from: Super Sprint, Sprint and Standard.

The Super Sprint is open to anyone 15 years and older. The two other events are open to adults (18+).

Just trying triathlon for the first time or not enough time to train for a longer event? Then the Super Sprint is perfect. The race will start with a 400m sea swim, take you out on a 10km cycle, following country roads east of the town and then a flat 3 km run along the beach front. Aimed at beginners in multi-sport, the gentle course and short distances can be taken at your own pace, breast-stroke and walking is allowed! As this race is about participation and individual challenges there will be random prizes for finishers!

Wanting to push yourself that extra mile? The Sprint distance is sure to challenge your competitive side. A 750m sea swim, 20km ride and 5km run across a flat course should have you clocking good times. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as age group winners.

More experienced in triathlon? Then the Standard distance could be right for you. 1500m sea swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run will make for an exciting event. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as age group winners.

Please have a look at the Triathlon Scotland rule book and familiarise yourself with the relevant rules.

We expect wetsuits to be compulsory (unless water temperature is unusually high). Wetsuit hire is available through Total Endurance

We are operating WAITING LISTS for all events and might be in touch with relatively short notice if a place becomes available.

We are accepting entries for paratriathlon categories - please contact us on nairntriathlon@yahoo.com to discuss further.
