Organiser's Description

MacQueen Bros Mid Argyll Triathlon is back for 2024. Join us in the heart of scenic Argyll, swimming in the refurbished 20m MAC pool, cycling by the Mhoine Mhor national nature reserve and past Dunadd hill fort, the site of the crowning of the kings of Dalriada, and running along the famous Crinan canal.

 

Every competitor will receive a technical t-shirt and race memento. 

 

It's an accessible, flat course with a pool swim. We aim to welcome everyone whether it’s your first triathlon or you are a familiar face at our event. Our event is supported by the local community and well marshalled, offering friendly support along your way.

 

  • 500 Metre Swim 
  • 19 Km cycle 
  • 6.5 Km Run

Affiliated to Triathlon Scotland, the national body for triathlon in Scotland, this event is now a regular fixture on the national events calendar.

 

Mid Argyll Community pool café offer a range of food and refreshments and will be open before, during and after the event. 

 

Entry Information

Minimum age of entry for individual race: 17 Years old at 31st December 2024

Minimum age of entry for team race (swim): 15 Years old at 31st December 2024

Minimum age of entry for team race (bike): 16 Years old at 31st December 2024

Minimum age of entry for team race (run): 17 Years old at 31st December 2024

 

Please note as this is an open road event Triathlon Scotland require us to obtain parental consent for all entrants aged under 18 on race day. This information must be included on your entry form be it an individual or a member of a team.

Please contact us if you are making a team entry involving juniors for whom you are not a parent or guardian. We will need to collect consent for this from the parent or guardian.

 

Teams of three people only should be entered. Each person should be recorded on the team entry. One person is to swim, one person is to cycle and one is to run. 

 

Please record on the entry form if you are a disabled athlete so that the event organizers can discuss with you suitability of the course. 

 

Entries will be accepted up until the event is full and a reserve list will be in operation. Entries on the day will incur a race entry surcharge of up to £5.

£5 discount for early entry available until 31st May 2024.

Entry Central fees of 4% (min 50p) for each sign-up apply.

 

Refunds 

We will not be offering any refunds or deferrals. We recommend that you take out insurance for this event if you wish to protect your entry fee. Entries are not transferable. 

 

Race Information

Competitors must be registered by 10.15 am. The first heat must be ready to race and on pool side at 10.45 am for a 11.00 am start. Registration opens at 8.15 am.

To sign-up for this event, the Service Fee is 4% (min 50p) for each sign-up

A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for participants who are not a British Triathlon Home Nation member. For this event, Race Pass costs are £2.00 for participants aged 24 and under, and £8.00 otherwise.
