House of Dun Duathlon

Welcome to the sign-up page for the inaugural House of Dun Duathlon hosted by Montrose Triathlon Club.

The race is based at the beautiful House of Dun which is a National Trust for Scotland building.

Car parking is available but there is not a huge amount of spaces so please car share if possible. Please bring £3 (or your card) for car park payment. Follow the marshals instructions when parking so we can optimise the space we have.

Both run sections are within the grounds and are off-road so trail trainers are advised. Road trainers that you don’t mind getting muddy are also acceptable, but it could be slippy underfoot. The bike section is mainly on quiet country roads.

The distances are as follows:

The routes will be signed with marshals placed as appropriate. Marshals cannot stop traffic so highway code must be followed. There will be a mandatory stop and unclip from pedal point at the Dun/Montrose road junction. This is for your own safety to ensure there is no traffic coming from your right. There will also be a marshal at this point. Failure to unclip will result in disqualification.

There is a limit of 70 participants for the day and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A waiting list will be in operation.

Closing date for entries is Friday, 19^th September 2025.

The bike route has been measured using Mapometer. The entry fee is £35 per person or team (please note participants who are not members of a home nation governing body such as Triathlon Scotland, will also be asked to buy a race pass to ensure you have public liability insurance on the day of the event.  More information about the race pass can be found on the British Triathlon website).

Under 18 year old participants must have parental consent to race on open road.

Race passes will be checked on the day.

There will be prizes for the overall winners and are as follows:

• 1^st Open category/Female
• 2^nd Open category/Female
• 3^rd Open category/Female

Both races will be held under Triathlon Scotland rules.

The event will be timed by Thistle Timing with times available after the race or on Thistle Timing website.

Compulsory Briefing : 09:00

Race Starts : 09:30 (or as close to it as possible)

First aid will be available. First aiders will be based at the House of Dun

There will be breakfast rolls and coffee available at the end in the House of Dun cafe. Please have some cash or your card with you.
