Lochore 10k

10 Oct 2021

Lochore 10k has now closed and you will not be able to sign-up for it. Please check the Organiser's Description for any organiser updates.
This event is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

The Lochore 10k returns to Lochore Meadows Country Park, near Lochgelly, on Sunday 10 October 2021. The setting for this race is fantastic, with a multi terrain route around the loch, and a park centre and play area for any family coming to support.

This is a generally flat and fast 2 lap route, mostly on ‘hard packed’ trails / paths, with a short section on road within the park. Normal running shoes or trail shoes will be suitable. We have chip timing, and every finisher will receive a commemorative medal.

Participants must be 15 years or over on the day of the race.

Please follow us on Twitter (@Lochore10k) and 'Like' us on Facebook for updates in the lead up to the race, and results afterwards.

Subject to Covid restrictions (see more below), registration will take place between 8am-10am in the Park Centre. Please arrive in plenty of time to get parked and register, before 10am, and so that we can try to avoid long queues at any particular time. You will receive your race number at registration, unless restrictions/rules change which mean we decide to send race numbers out by post. Participants must be 15 yrs or over on the day of the race.

The race will start promptly at 10.30am, from the grass area behind the Watersports Centre car park, and the route is marshalled and well sign-posted.

Facilities and Car Parking:

There are toilet facilities, but as with all races, they can be very busy pre-race(!) and with social distancing measures in place, facilities will be more limited in availability. There is also ample parking, but please car share where possible/allowed.

Prizes and Results:

Prize vouchers will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall in both Male and Female categories.

A prize voucher will also be awarded to the 1st place finisher in each Age Group (Male and Female), but with each runner only being eligible to win one prize. Please note that there will NOT be a prizegiving on the day, again in line with Covid guidance/restrictions at time of launching this event.

Race results will be published as soon as possible after the event on Run ABC Scotland (formerly Scottish Running Guide). Please note that for a small race like ours, it is not viable to become affiliated with Scottish Athletics. This means that while we know the route is an accurate 10k, finish times cannot be submitted to the Power of 10 or RunBritain websites for 'official' PB recognition. You can still tell all your friends/clubmates though!

Please note that entry fees are strictly non transferable and non-refundable except for in line with Covid measures, and at our discretion depending on circumstances and guidance at the time.

All information available to the organisers at present indicate that the race can proceed as planned. However, changes to guidelines and restrictions may impact the event and there may also be additional controls necessary to maximise competitor safety. All relevant information will be communicated prior to the event and it is the responsibility of all entrants to ensure that they have read and understood this prior to taking part.

No competitor or spectator should attend the event who exhibit Covid symptoms or are in the process of isolating. Refer to the cancellation section for further details.

To avoid congestion and queuing there will be NO entries taken on the day.

Cancelation Policy

Competitors, spectators and our volunteers' safety will always be the highest priority for the event organisers. If anything occurs that is outwith our control that would compromise health and safety then we reserve the right to modify, cancel or reschedule the event accordingly. The organisers will communicate any changes as far ahead as circumstances dictate, along with entry decisions. Refunds will be given at the discretion of the organisers depending on circumstances impacting the event. There may be an option to defer to the following year. The process as it applies will be communicated to all entrants.
