Organiser's Description

The inaugural Kinross Show Hill Race will take place on Saturday 8th August at 12.00pm.

This is an intense up-and-down hill race on a majority pathless route, which is not normally accessible to the public. The route is approximately 2.3miles with 750ft of ascent and includes both rough sections and technical descent. The route boasts incredible views of Loch Leven and a bird's eye view of the Kinross Show. The course will begin in the centre of the show and finish next to the bar.

This event has been organised by Kinross Road Runners and is insured by Scottish Hill Runners.

In conjunction with Scottish Hill Runners race insurance requirements, runners are expected to carry the standard kit, map, whistle and compass. The route map will be available on the Scottish Hill Runners website prior to the event day.

The event is open to all runners aged 16 or over on the day of the race.

The route will be marked with marshals at key points, but runners are expected to be able to navigate themselves up and down the hill.

Entry to the Kinross Show Hill Race will also gain runners free access to the Kinross Show and the parking facilities. Supporters are encouraged to attend and should purchase entry tickets for the show separately. The show includes stalls, livestock, tractors, food vendors, live music, a bar, and lots more to entertain the family. Please purchase tickets for supporters directly from Kinross Show here: https://www.kinross-show.co.uk/
Note: Entered runners do not need to purchase an entry to the Kinross Show.

There will be a prize for the first male and female runners, as well as a team prize for the fastest male and female teams. A team is comprised of three runners. There will be no age-category prizes at this inaugural event.

There are no refunds or deferrals available for this event, however, runners will be able to transfer their entry to another runner up until the event closing date. In the unfortunate event of a race cancellation, the event will not be able to be rescheduled (as it can only take place as part of the Kinross Show), and no refunds will be possible.

Registration

Registration opens at 11.00am and will be in the bar area of the Kinross Show.

You will need to pass kit check in order to collect your race number. Please see full details of Scottish Hill Runner Rules here
