Organiser's Description

Killearn 10k Trail Race

Saturday 5th June 2027 - 11am
We usually sell out fast, so don’t hang about - secure your spot today!

The Killearn 10k (www.killearn10k.com) is a Scottish Athletics-affiliated event, organised by members of our local community. While it’s classed as a trail run, expect a mix of tarmac, forest paths, farm tracks, and open grassland. Elevation is approximately 310ft.

Your entry fee includes our popular Killearn 10k technical t-shirt or vest (choose at sign-up). We send them in advance so people can wear them on the day if they wish.

We are delighted that our race is so popular, we love to welcome people to the village and also celebrate all of our local runners. We are supported by a team of enthusiastic Marshals and supporters on the day.

Key Details

  • Race numbers: posted to your registered address – make sure you update this in Entry Central if you change address post registration.
  • We operate a NO REFUND policy and sorry, no deferrals.
  • Transfers: We understand that sometimes things change. You can transfer your bib to another runner up until 31 March 2026. To do this – contact the organiser via Entry Central to request the swap.
  • Finish line closes after 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Prize giving for overall winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd) along with winners of local G63 prize and age categories 40/50/60/70: 12:30pm in the park.

Route & Timings

Same scenic route as 2026: starting and finishing in Killearn Public Park, heading out through the village, along the historic pipe track, skirting the foothills of Dumgoyne, and back via Ibert Road.

Race Rules

  • Entrants must be 17 or older on race day.
  • You must be medically fit to run - participation is at your own risk.
  • Read and comply with the risk assessment (published on the website before race day).
  • No unofficial bib swapping is permitted.
  • By starting the race, you confirm you’ve read and agree to all rules.

The Killearn 10k is affiliated with Scottish Athletics Limited and follows UKA rules (licence pending).

Why No Bib Swapping?

We are often asked why we don’t allow unofficial bib swapping – here’s why:

Safety & Insurance
Your entry includes important details like your name, age, emergency contact, and medical info. If someone else runs with your bib, we won’t have the right information if they need help - and they won’t be covered by our event insurance.

Fair Play & Prizes
Results and prizes are linked to the registered runner. Swapping bibs could mean someone wins a prize they’re not entitled to, and while we are a fun run and not the Olympics, it’s not great form.

So, for everyone’s safety and to keep things fair, bib swapping is strictly not allowed. If you can’t run, we allow official transfers up to 31 March 2026 - just email the organiser via Entry Central to request a swap.
