Danny Mason Highland & Lowland Challenges, Sunday 14th June 2026
We're delighted to be presenting the 35th edition of this iconic cycling event. After costs, all proceeds go to Shropshire Wildlife Trust, who play a vital role in looking after Shropshire's landscape habitat for birds, mammals, fish, insects, trees, wildflowers, grasses and ferns.
Both Challenges start from Ludlow Rugby Club, which opens for parking at 7.30 am. You sign on at the Rugby Club.
On entry you will will receive a confirmation e-mail. Then a week or so before the event you will be e-mailed a route GPS link, sign-on and other details.
Camping
Basic camping at the Rugby Club is available on the night of Saturday 13th only. Charges are £10 per person in a tent, £15 per person in a camper van, mobile home or caravan. There are toilets, showers and electricity supply in the clubhouse (24hr access) but no exterior electricity supply or waste disposal services for vehicles/tents. The Rugby Club does not allow dogs on its site.

Our entry limit for 2026 is 450 riders for the Highland Challenge and 50 for the Lowland Challenge.
Fees include the route, food and drink at Registration and at all feedstops, and a certificate or small prize on completion.

Unless you specifically inform us otherwise, entrants' email addresses will be kept to notify you of future Highland Challenges, and for no other purpose.
Once you enter, we do not refund fees if you have to withdraw - your fee will count as a donation to Shropshire Wildlife Trust. However, we can defer your entry to the following year if you request by June 6th 2026. If we have to cancel the event for any reason, we will refund you your fee less nominal administrative costs.
Danny Mason Highland Challenge
The Highland Challenge starts from 08.00 and is a challenging 110km/68 mile ride, with approximately 1,660metres/5,500ft of climbing. It's mostly on quiet roads & lanes in, and a bit beyond, the beautiful Shropshire Hills National Landscape.
You can ride on your own, with friends or family and/or with folk you meet on the day, at the pace you choose. There are no rider timings; how long you stop at our three en-route feedstops is up to you.
The Entry Fee is £25 up to 31/12/25, thereafter £30.
Danny Mason Lowland Challenge
The Lowland Challenge starts at 09.30 and will be the 2nd edition of a gentle 35km/21.5 mile exploration of lovely quiet country lanes north of Ludlow and back, with refreshments at the start and end. There is approximately 325 metres/1,000ft of climbing, but nothing particularly steep. The ride will be led, but you are welcome to ride ahead of or behind the led group, using the GPS route link which we send you in advance.
The Entry Fee is £12.50.
