Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners - 400m knockout event - winter edition 1pm Saturday 18th March 2023

Everyone runs a 400m circuit at Braintree Athletic Track - after each circuit the bottom 1 or 2 (depends upon number of entries) are pulled out until we are left with 15 and thereafter it is the last finisher that is pulled out after each circuit. This continues until we have 2 final races. The penultimate race decides the bronze medalist with the final a head to head showdown for Gold and Silver. 

Each 400m circuit starts promptly 30 seconds after the last finisher of the prior circuit heat. 

This is a running challenge of strategy and endurance. Run too quick in the early rounds, when all that is needed is to stay out of the bottom pull out zone and pay the price later on. Equally, run too slowly and suffer very short recovery which may tell later on.

The finalists can expect to have run approx 25-30 circuits by the end of the event (circa 6 - 7 miles of reps)

Separate male and female prizes will be on offer. However, both male and female races will be held together in the same event.
