Organiser's Description
We would like to welcome you back to Dalry's 12km road race which is organised through the Community Development Hub and supported by the Dalry Sports Club and Garnock Valley Runners and is a community event for the local and surrounding areas. This is our 5th anniversary and we are grateful for everyones ongoing support.
Our main sponsor again is DSM-Firmenich who have donated towards the T-shirts and our other sponsors are Ryside Garage, Auchengree Farm Shop and Gilberts Traffic Mangement.
This year we are supporting two projects which we hope you will be able to suport.
The first is our local food larder which we continue to support each year. It would be appreciated if you could donate any food tins, packets of dry food or toiletries which can be collected from you on race day.
Our second is 'Bessie on the Bypass' through the Bypass ART group who are working on a getting a large piece of iron artwork on the Dalry Bypass. By donating £1 this will go towards paying an engineer to survey the ground to ensure she can be erected on the chosen sight. You can follow them on facebook here:
THE RACE
The race will be held on Sunday 21 June 2026 with the race starting at 10am and is limited to 200 entries. Entrants should be aged 17 and over on the day of the race and by entering you are confirming you understand that participation at this event is at your own risk.
THE ROUTE
The race starts at Dalry Public Park, Dalry (North Ayrshire) and runs up the Blair Road, around Auchenskeith, along the walls of the historic Blair House Estate and back to the park. It is a hilly scenic route along some narrow roads therefore will be unable to accomodate walkers or dogs.
A map will be put up onto our local facebook page nearer the time. dalrycommunitydevhub.co.uk
The road will not be closed during the race therefore runners are required to be vigilant. The route will be well marked with Marshalls at road crossings and key points along the route so please ensure you obey their directions. Please do not wear headphones during the race.
There is a waterstation at 7km at the entrance to the Blair Estate. Please also bring your own water as it may be a warm day.
The route is challenging and hilly and as it is a road race we cannot rule out any pot holes or uneven surfaces therefore please run with due care.
There will be a sweeper and safety car with a first aider onboard to offer minimal first aid if required. A first aider will also be based in the park.
RACE START
Race bibs numbers can be collected from the Sports Pavillion in the park when registration opens from 8.45am onwards. Please write your emergency contact on the back.
Perfect Timing are covering our event again this year and timing chips will be on the bibs. If you do not finish the race for whatever reason, please inform th nearest Marshall along the route.
As the race has a narrow path at the beginning of the route it will be a staggered start and you will be placed depending on your estimated finishing times. Please follow instructions on the day. The winner therefore will be the fastest time and not necessary the first over the line.
FACILITIES
There are limited toilets within the sports pavillion and a drop bag area, however this is not lockable and is left at your own risk.
We have the right to change start time or postpone the event to another date if necessary. If we do this we will not return entry fees or pay any expenses. If you withdraw from the race there will be no refunds or carry forward of entry.
PARKING
There are parking spaces within the park, at the top of Smith Street and some around the town. Several buses go through Dalry and the local Dalry Railway station is a five minute walk from the park.
PRIZES
There will be cash prizes for 1st and 2nd male and female, as well as 1st and 2nd veteran male and female. There will be spot prizes on the day donated by local businesses.
As this is our 5th Anniversary all runners will receive a T shirt and a medal , a bottle of water, a biscuit and a roll in square slice again this year (vegan option available) at the end of the race. (Please state your size for T shirt on the entry form)
The deadline to ensure your t-shirt is available on race day is 1st June (3 weeks prior to race). We will keep the Entry Central site open until the 19th June as the company have agreed to try and have all T-shirts ready OR they can be ordered and picked up at the Dalry Community Garden or another agreed venue when ready.
