This Festival is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

Thank you for entering our Crown to Crown Boxing Day event on the 26th December 2021 starting at 11am. Please help us to keep you and others safe before, during and after our races by adhering to the latest UK Government Covid-19 guidance. Please use a mask when picking up your Race Number on the day and keep a sensible distance. The start can get crowded so we are asking you to keep a sensible distance whilst waiting for the start and keep in mind that faster runners will be at the front with slower towards the rear.

Please note:

All race fees now include additional fees for processing online payments.

·      18 and over England Athletic affiliated (attached) entry fee - £2.50

(Requires valid EA Athlete number on your EntryCentral profile)

·      18 and over England Athletic unaffiliated (unattached) entry fee - £4.50

·      12 to 17 entry fee £1.50

Race details:

The start and finish are located at Westley Heights Country Park at the rear of the Miller & Carter (Crown) Public House, Langdon Hills.

Start and finish at Westley Heights Country Park where limited parking is available: please DO NOT park in the Miller & Carter Pub car park. Please also allow plenty of time to park (this may involve a short walk if the main car park is full) and time to collect your number.

Toilets are available, but there are no showers or changing facilities (we suggest you bring a spare toilet roll just in case!).

The route will have Marshalls to ensure you follow the route and a tail runner to ensure we don’t lose anyone. Please listen to and adhere to any instructions from the volunteers and marshals, they are there for your safety.

First Aid medical cover will be provided.

All standards are welcome, but due to TRA and England Athletics maximum distance requirements for children, no children under the age of 12 are permitted to run.

The Crown to Crown is a measured 5k route - mainly on bridleways, the start is on Beeleigh Avenue and the route takes runners onto Lee Chapel Lane and into the Essex Wildlife Trusts Willow Park. A loop round the reserve, back to Lee Chapel Lane and then to the finish at the Westley Heights Car Park.

Spikes are not suitable due to sections of tarmac.

Held under UK Athletics rules: TRA Permit No. 4486.

Race cancellation policy:

If for any reason such as, but not limited to adverse weather, course conditions or Government or landowner advice that we must cancel the race, we will offer either a transfer to our next race in 2022 or offer a refund (minus any card processing fees that are outside our control).
