CARNEGIE HARRIERS Devilla Forest 15 and 5 - Kincardine, Fife

18 Feb 2018

The Carnegie Harriers Devilla Forest 15 and Devilla Forest 5 are two trail races taking place from the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan, Kincardine on Sunday 18th February 2018. Both races are organised by Carnegie HarriersRunning Club.

The Devilla Forest 15 and Devilla Forest 5 are run under UK Athletics Rules and are Scottish athletics permit events. You must be at least 16 years old to take part in the Devilla Forest 15 and 14 years old to take part in the Devilla Forest 5.

The Devilla Forest 15 is approximately 15KM (9.3 miles) and will start at 11am. The race entry fee is £10.00 (Scottish Athletics Members) and £12.00 (non-SAL Members).

The Devilla Forest 5 is 5KM (3.1 miles) and will start immediately after the 15KM race at 11.05am.The race entry fee is £6.00 (SAL Members) and £8.00 (non-SAL Members).

Please note: These races are strictly PRE-ENTRY ONLY, with NO ENTRIES TAKEN ON RACE DAY. It is a condition of entry that there are no entry refunds and no number swapping is allowed. You will receive a confirmation e-mail to confirm your entry; please check that your entry details are correct and advise the Race Director if any details require amending. No amendments can be made after 11th February. In the unfortunate event that you have to call off from the race please advise the Race Director and your place will be given to the next person on the waiting list.

Race numbers and timing chips are to be collected on the day at the Assembly Hall within the Scottish Police College from 9.00am.

Finshline Chip Timing systems are once again supplying the chip timing for the Devilla races. They have now supplied this service for all of the previous Devilla races and we're now delighted that they are one of our main event sponsors.

Both races start and finish within the grounds of the Scottish Police College, although the start points for both races are at different points. Please follow directions from the Assembly Hall on the day for your respective race, and be ready to assemble 10 minutes before your start time for your race briefing.

The Devilla Forest 15 follows a 'relatively flat' 15KM anti-clockwise loop of Devilla Forest, taking in a mix of fire-roads, paths and single track. The route skirts 3 lochs and goes through a variety of sheltered woodland. Ground conditions vary from boggy to hardpacked.

The Devilla Forest 5 follows a similarly flattish 5KM anti-clockwise loop around the Moor Loch which is also within Devilla Forest.

Devilla Forest is a working forest and as such any work taking place on the race route may require either or both routes to be amended on race day. Any changes will be notified to entrants as soon as known.

Both routes are predominantly offroad but suitable for ordinary trainers or trail shoes (not suitable for spikes). The courses will be marshalled or arrowed at all junctions. The safety of all is paramount and it is a condition of entry that competitors must follow the instructions of the marshals at all times.

Any runner not reaching the 7K water station within an hour will be timed out and withdrawn from the race.

Dogs are not permitted in either race.

Car Parking is available within the the grounds of the Scottish Police College. Only enter the Scottish Police College by the main entrance only and do not follow any Sat Nav directions through Devilla Forest. This route is not tarmacced, is unsuitable for cars, is slower and upsets local residents. Please follow directions on the day within the College grounds.

Changing, showering and toilet facilities are available at the Recreation Hall. A baggage area will be provided to allow runners to leave clothes during the race. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss of clothing or equipment.

Starbucks cafe, situated next to registration, will be open from 9.00am until 2.00pm

Excellent prizes will be awarded in all age categories.

We have also been very fortunate to have again secured sponsorship from Run4It, Edinburgh. All entrants to both the 15K and 5K will receive a Run4It voucher and a bottle of Harviestoun's delicious Schiehallion lager beer (if you're old enough!). The full race results for both events will be available afterwards on the Carnegie Harriers website at
