Avon Valley Runners are proud to announce the Avon Valley Runners Relay race which will take place on Saturday 19 July at 11.00 starting at Bradford on Avon Rugby and finishing at Trowbridge Rugby Footbal Club. The route is a mix of quiet coiuntry lanes and tow path along the Kennet and Avon Canal. This baton relay can be run as a 4 person team or solo over 17 miles with with 4 legs starting at:

Bradford on Avon Rugby Club (4 miles)
Dundas Aquaduct (4.25 miles) 
Tythe Barn Bradford on Avon (5.75 miles) 
Semmington Arms (4.3 miles)

Each leg end has a water station and there will be 3 first aiders along the course. The route is not guided but there will be limited signage along the route with "marshalls" at key points. Runner should familiarise themselves with route (see red line on the map).   

Free car parking and toilets are available at the start from 10.00 until 12.00 (Bradford on Avon Rugby Club, Ashley Lane, BA15 2HR (off the Winsley bye pass)) and at the finish from 09.30 until 17.00 (Trowbridge Rugby Football Club, Doric Park, Hilperton, Trowbridge BA14 6JB (off the A361)

Relay teams of 4 AVR paid up members in club colours can enter at no cost, as can solo paid up members in AVR club colours. AVR team leaders and solo runners please email offroad@avonvalleyrunners.org.uk to get a discount code.
Fee for other relay teams (clubs and individuals as a team) is £25.00 per team, the fee for solo runners is £20.00.

The race is run under ARC permit No ARC/25/0298re  Dogs are not peremitted, this is due to potential hazard on the ofetn busy tow path. 

The race is open to all aged 13 years and above except leg 3 which requires entrants to be 15 years and above. Those entering the solo race must be 18 years and above. Prizes will be awarded to first:

Male Solo (18 years and over) 
Female Solo (18 years and over)
Open Team (18 years and over, any combination of male and female)
Female Team (aged 18 years and over)
Male Team (aged 18 years and over)
Mixed Team (aged 18 years and over with 2 female and 2 male members) 
Junior Team (13 years and over, leg 3 15 years and over and below 18 years)

Prizes will be presented at 14.00 on race day at Trowbridge Rugby Football Club 

Runners representing your team on the first stage of the relay should register your team no later than 12:30pm. Solo runners will also need to register no later than 12:30pm.

The relay will be held under an ARC permit.

Entry Fees: £24 per team or £30 on the day.

Trophies/prizes will be awarded to 1st Male Team, 1st Female Team, 1st Junior Team*, 1st Open Team**, 1st Mixed Team (two males and two females) and 1st Solo Runner***.

Additionally, after its popularity in previous years, prizes will be awarded for the best team name and the best team photo! So, get thinking and be creative!

Members of a Male Team and a Female Team must all be aged 18 or over on race day.
Members of Open Teams and Mixed Teams must be aged 13 or over on race day.
*Juniors aged 13 or over are more than welcome for this event but any runners running Leg 3 must be aged 15 or over.
All members of a junior team must be below the age of 18 on race day.
**A team made up of male and female runners but with no restrictions over how many male or female members the team must have.
***Solo runners must be aged 18 or over on race day.
