From JustRide - an "Allroader", The Wrekin Wrecker on March 26th 2017
The Wrekin Wrecker Allroader is a long distance cycling event which includes a variety of road surfaces from smooth tarmac to rough bridleway and everything in between.
Starting at Coalport and heading out towards Bridgenorth, Kinver, and beyond and back via Patshull Hall, Lilleshall, and the Wrekin. The Wrecker offers two ride options of 60 or 100 miles , both of which take in some of the finest scenic lanes and tracks in Shropshire and the West Midlands.
Three fully stocked feed stations will be on offer along the long route with two for the shorter route. Riders can start from 08:30 on the day.
The event supports the Severn Hospice, who provide specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families. The hospice is based in Shrewsbury, and £1 from all entry fees will be donated direct to charity. Participants may make additional voluntary contributions as desired on the on-line entry page
Bicycles By Design will be supporting the event, offering pre-ride bike checks as well as providing the 'broom wagon' offering on the road support.

There are refreshments available pre and post-ride at the event base, the YHA at Coalport.
Q: is there a cut-off time?
A: The organisers, expect riders on the 60 mile route to have completed by 2pm, the 100 mile by 5pm. The route is circular, riders on the 100 mile route that wish to take a short cut home will need to inform control that they are doing so (control numbers will be provided)
Q: What type of bike is most suitable?
A: Within reason, any bike is suitable depending on your skill level and riding style, however the organisers would recommend use of a cycle with sufficient frame clearance to allow for a 700x 28c tyre (assuming a road/tour/adventure bike is used).
Q: Will I get a gpx file of the route?
A: Yes, all riders will be issued with a gpx file and other essential rider information in the two weeks prior to the event
Q: Am I insured?
A: Yes, the event is covered for third party only. It does not fall under any cycling body regulations
Q: Is there a minimum age to take part?
A: Yes, riders must be at least 14 years old. Anyone under 16 yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
Early bird entry fee until 31st January of £25, then £35 until closing date.
