Entered your first swimrun race? Unsure about swimrun gear? Or just curious about this fabulous and unique race format? Then come along to our workshop and get hands on with swimrun gear and experiment with it in a safe and supportive environment. 
 
If you have already completed a swimrun and want to share your experience and continue to learn than this is for you too. 
 
It's a great way to meet some other like minded people and potentially meet a future race / training partner.
 
Core Sessions 10:00 - 11:30
  • Kit choice & customisation
  • Swimming/running with a tow system
  • ​Sighting techniques
  • Open water swim technique
  • Use of hand paddles & pull buoys
  • ​Transition training
  • Race strategy
  • Kit management in transition
  • Racing with a partner - team mentality​​​
  • Race nutrition
  • Insider tips for specific races

Active Sessions 12:00 - 14:00
  • Run session using a tow system/running together, tips for steep & uneven ground, land-based transition practice.
  • Mini swimrun - a short route with several transitions to help practice and consolidate what you have learnt. We will move together at a sociable pace.
  • With special access to the lake, and Mike's expert knowledge of the area, we have a lot of flexibility in the length of swims/runs we do, this can be adjusted based on the group/individuals.
During the workshop we will mimic a short swimrun over several short legs. There will be a key focus on towing, transitions, and kit management. 
 
THE VENUE
 
We will be based at The Tyn Y Cornel Hotel, with special access to Tal Y Llyn lake, and a great range of trail running options in the vicinity. Address: Tal-y-llyn, Tywyn LL36 9AJ.
