Skills School Day Information

Description: This session will make use of some of the fire roads around Mugdock country park for running, riding and orienteering, as well as doing some technical bike skills in one of the grass clearings. We recommend that the athletes attending are confident riding a bike, or have ridden a mountain bike before, to then be able to build on those skills as part of this session. We will have access to an indoor space throughout the day for use during breifings, lunch and as shelter if required due to the weather.

If you do not own a mountain bike then hire of one can be arranged independently from the bike shop on site (

What to Bring: Bike: A mountain bike or cyclocross bike in good working order, puncture repair kit (tubes that fit your bike and tyre leavers), and a helmet that fits. A strong lock to secure your bike when we are not riding it. Clothing suitable to be outside for extended periods of time, and a full change of clothes and waterproofs. Running shoes (trail shoes if you have them, but cross-country spikes are not necessary).
