THE RED BUZZARD
The Red Buzzard is a 10km+ trail running race hosted by Malvern Buzzards Running Club. The route passes through the beautiful countryside of Herefordshire & Worcestershire on public trails & bridleways from Greenhill, Malvern, WR13.
Why the Red Buzzard? Buzzards aside from being incredible birds of prey hold a rich narrative in folklore and mythology worldwide. In many traditions the buzzard symbolises heroism and death; a buzzard encounter may act as a “memento mori” reminding us that death cannot be avoided and provide a catalyst for embracing our lives and the present moment.
It is in this spirit the Red Buzzard trail race offers an exciting format point this year: a pair of lead runners, representing male and female Red Buzzards, will begin with a head start with the race runners to follow. A symbolic celebration of life, running, and seizing the day; follow the Red Buzzard and catch them if you can.
