Organiser's Description

Welcome to the St Andrews School fun run and 5km trail run taking place on Sunday 22nd September 

We are pleased to have Matt Shone again as our hare for the fun run. Matt has run a sub 4 minute mile and competed at the Commonwealth Games and run for Great Britain.  

Also new for this year there will be fun family races to take part in! Entries for these fun races will be on the day. 

FUN RUN

Start time 10.30am Join us for a warm up before the start. Runners under 7 to be accompanied by an adult. Entries can also be made on the day but please arrive in enough time to register. 

Route - all terrain 2.5km (approx) circular course starting and finishing at the Chedworth Cricket Club GL54 4AD running through Manor Farm land along farm tracks.  A fairly flat route with a steady incline towards the end.  The route will be marshalled and there will be a hare who will lead the runners round the route. No spikes please.

Prizes - Medals for all fun run finishers and prizes for the first boy and girl overall and in each age group for boys and girls.  The age groups are under 5s, under 7s, under 9s, under 11s and under 13s - age is as at the date of the race.  There will also be a prize for the first girl and boy from St Andrew's School - generously donated by Wiggin LLP  

5Km TRAIL RUN

Start time 11.15am Entries can also be made on the day provided the event limit has not been reached. 

Age - 11 years or older.  

Route - a lovely all-terrain circular course which takes you across private farmland and allows you to run through a beautiful setting which isn't usually accessible.  The trail is a mix of farm tracks and grassland.  The route is undulating with a steady incline at the start and and a long steady incline towards the end of the run. The route will be marked by marshals and signs. Prizes - All finishers will receive a medal. There will be a prize for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd woman and man home. 

Information relating to both runs

Bib numbers - Pick up on the day from 9.30am.  All runners must wear a bib number on their front.  The run is manually timed, so if we can't see your number at the finish, you can't get a time recorded.  Please help us to help you!  

Facilities - There are no bag drop facilities so any valuables are left entirely at owner's risk.

Results - We will get the results ready ASAP - please wait around and enjoy the refreshments available. We will also publish the results on www.st-andrewsschool.co.uk

Parking - Parking is available at the Cricket Club.

Refreshments - Tea, coffee, soft drinks, BBQ food, cakes and ice creams will be available to purchase. 

Safety - Please do not start either the fun run or the trail run if you are not sure that you are fit and well.  We will have first aiders at the start and finish and marshals on the course.  We will call an ambulance in an emergency but we are located in a rural area and the nearest A&E is at least 30 minutes away.  Ask a marshal for help if you need assistance.  There will be a race safety briefing before each run so please ensure you are at the start line 10 mins before the start to listen to this.  No headphones to be worn during either run.  You will need to be aware of instructions from the marshals, other runners and there is a small section of the trail run which will be on the road.
