Spring Duathlon, Mersea Island
22 Apr 18
This event is held at the beautiful Cudmore Grove Country Park on the Eastern end of Mersea Island in Essex. Cudmore Grove is famous for its wildlife including its migrating birds and slithery adders. Cudmore Grove looks out over its stunning cliffs and beach to the North Sea. The cliffs have been known to unearth such fossils like the great Mammoth. To the back of Cudmore is its protected woodland looking over a large lake teeming with birds. The bulk of Cudmore Grove is open meadows. Its a favourite place for dog walkers and family picnics and a great place to run as it provides such varied terrain.
This is a common distance for a Duathlon and is a very popular event, it eliminates the Swim but still has three components Run, Cycle, Run. The distance is an ideal challenge for beginners. It is also a great event to add to the calendar for seasoned triathletes and duathletes.
