The Green Belt Relay, organised by The Stragglers, returns on the weekend of 14th and 15th May 2022

'GBR' is a two day, 22 stage, relay race around London's Greenbelt countryside and surrounding towns, running on a mixture of paths, trails and roads. It is widely regarded as one of the best Serpie weekends you can take part in.

The route is divided into 22 sections (between 6.0 and 13.3 miles), and teams consist of 11 runners. Everyone runs twice, once on each day of the race. We all travel around the course in a few minibuses, supporting other runners as we go. On Saturday night we'll stay at a hotel near the half-way point. You need to be available for the whole weekend.

Entry is open to all Serpies but please remember that you must be capable of running around 20 miles split across two days (e.g. 8 miles on Saturday then 12 miles on Sunday).

Serpentine have entered four teams again this year: men, women, vets and a mixed team, although this can easily be changed based on who signs up. We need drivers and navigators for each mini-bus so please tick the box(es) if you're able to help. We have four minibuses and need at least two drivers per bus (who drive about 60miles each per day). Non drivers are encouraged to help with navigating (a satnav or Google maps helps!)

Serpentine members only who would like to be included on one of our teams should register here. The fee payable now (£59) is non-refundable until/unless a waiting list comes into operation and exchanges can be organised. It includes the cost of transport and the evening buffet meal on Saturday. Other expenses, including the cost of hotel on Saturday (Approx £40 bed & breakfast per person sharing a twin room) need to be paid for on the day.

Those who drive a minibus for us on the weekend will have half of their entry fee (£29) refunded - this is to thank you for your effort!
