In order to compete in the championships;

Athletes must

• either be born in Shropshire (including Telford and Wrekin) or have been resident for 9 months or more, or a member of the armed forces stationed within the county
• be a member of a Shropshire AA affiliated club or a registered athlete with England Athletics.
• compete for their first claim club and wear their club/school vest
• not wear headphones during the race

New EA Anti Doping Policy

‘An entrant shall be deemed to have made him/herself/their self, familiar with, and agreed to be bound by the UKA Anti-Doping Rules and to submit to the authority of UK Anti-Doping in the application and enforcement of the Anti-Doping Rules.

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules apply to entrants participating in the sport of Athletics, for 12 months from the [date of entry], whether or not the licence holder is a citizen of, or resident in, the UK.’

Refunds will not be given to entrants unable to race on the day.

Entry fees include the 50p Entry Central charge

Medals will be awarded to:

U13, U15, U17, Jun men and women , Sen women, Vet men and women

The first three in each age group and the first three teams.

Senior Men

The first three in the race and the first three teams but teams will consist of the first six finishers for each club.

Age Groups

U13 age group - pupils from Years 7 and 8 (born between 1/9/09 and 31/8/11)

U15 age group - pupils from Year 9 and 10 (born between 1/9/07 and 31/8/09)

U17 age group - pupils from Years 11 and 12 (born between 1/9/05 and 31/8/07)

Junior/ U20 Age group: born between 1st January 2003 and 31st August 2005. Athletes must be U20 on 31st December 2022.

Senior Age group: born before 1st January 2003

Vet Age group: 40 years or older on the day of the competition

The first 6 in each age group race will be selected to compete for Shropshire in the Inter-County Cross Country Championships to be held on Saturday 11th March at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough. Two more places will be allocated by selectors.
