Organiser's Description

Rattray Blair Half Marathon 2023 (Sunday 4th June)

This is a Scottish Athletics licensed event (licence number 12854)

We are delighted to announce that this fantastic event will go ahead again in 2023. The Rattray Blair Half Marathon must be one of the most scenic half marathon races in Scotland. All profits will be split between two local charities - Guide Dogs for the Blind (Forfar) and Perthshire Women's Aid.

The Race

The undulating and scenic course starts and finishes near Rattray Primary School and the good news is that the last 2 miles is mainly downhill. The course has been accurately measured (Certificate of Course Accuracy issued by the Association of UK Course Measurers) and is predominantly on quiet, rural roads with a small section of rough track.

Entry

Please note that entries close at midnight on 21st May 2023. Entry for walkers and runners is £20. Note that there is a discount of £2 for entrants affiliated to Scottish Athletics.

All finishers will receive a quality T-shirt, a bespoke medal and a fabulous goody bag.

Sorry, no entries on the day, no number transfers, no refunds and no deferrals.

Parking

Parking will be available at Rattray Primary School, High Street, Rattray, PH10 7DG.

Registration

Registration for walkers and runners will open at 8.00am at the Community Connect Centre beside Rattray Primary School. Walkers and runners will receive their race number at registration. All entrants must register at least 15 minutes before the event starts to allow time to get to the start line.

Start/Finish

The start and finish will be in the vicinity of the Community Connect Centre beside Rattray Primary School.

Walkers will start at 9am. Runners will start at 10am. Please be at the start area in good time.

Time Limit

Runners must be able to complete the course in 3 hours 15 minutes or less. Walkers must be able to complete the course in 4 hours 15 minutes or less. You are welcome to continue to complete the course after the cut-off time of 1.15pm but must be aware that marshals etc may have departed the course and you will not receive an official time.

PLEASE NOTE: UKA Rule 240 S5 forbids the wearing of headphones, for this reason we ask runners not to wear headphones unless medically prescribed. Headphones that work by conducting sound through bones and do not sit in the ears are acceptable.

We cannot allow walkers or runners to take part with dogs, prams, push-chairs etc due to the nature of the route.

Water Stations

There will be 4 Water stations on the course.

Runners and walkers must keep to the left hand side of the road unless otherwise directed. All runners and walkers must wear their race number on the front of their clothing. Please use four safety pins (spare pins available at registration) to assist in identification of number at the finish line.
