Stranraer Rotary Mull of Galloway Marathon Trail

Welcome to the Stranraer Rotary Mull of Galloway marathon trail. it is generally good path and well waymarked. There is no scrambling and no large ascents. The last 6 miles are in part on very quiet roads with little traffic. The trail is very scenic looking over Luce Bay, and ending at Loch Ryan with views over Ailsa Craig and Arrran in the distance. There are 2 courses, the longer is exactly marathon length; the shorter is the last 10 miles of the trail and is very easy going. The entry fee includes transport and a barbecue with complimentary drinks. If you have fans who want to join you for the food afterwards a donation to Rotary's charity fund is appreciated. Please book this at least a week before the event by e-mail.
Walkers - particularly on the short course, are welcome
Race Briefing: There will be a race safety brief at the race start to go over any safety issues and answer any questions.
Race Finish: The race will finish at the marina office. Showers and changing is available.
Water and energy stops: These will be at approximately 5 miles.These will be outlined on the race instructions.
Refreshments: There will be a barbecue with complimentary drinks included in the entry fee; there are spectacular views over Loch Ryan towards Ailsa Craig and Arran to help you recover while you eat and drink. If you have companions they can join in for a donation to Rotary.
Prize Giving: Prize giving will be during the barbecue around 4.30.

General Information: There is a large public car park near Registration which is free.
There will be water and energy foods and drink stations out on the course. Please follow all instructions from the Marshalls as they are there to ensure your safety.
