Mintlaw Mudder 2017

Saturday 5th August @ Noon
Aden Country Park
"Wild at Heart"
Welcome to Mintlaw Mudder 2017! Last year, a few lads put their heads together to organise our own exploration of the Buchan countryside. Good deeds done well by great folk, for it's own sake, helped our virgin event run smoothly. So much fun was had running miles through sludge, stream and shadow that we've been encouraged to go again... and here we are.
This year's event has an ecological theme. 7 miles of 'undulating' forest tracks, footpaths, trails, streams and obstructions. Don't expect Disneyland. We have no cranes, budget, electricity or lightshow.
We guarantee a Scottish Summer's day for big bairns who like a natural challenge.
Your finish time is irrelevant. There is nothing for 1st place except the knowledge that you paid more per minute than anyone else :) Our hope is that you'll run together and make the most of each others company. You may need it and we certainly will. First aiders will be on hand. Marshals will be plentyfull. There will be water stops. In fact, there'll be more water than you can drink. Spectators are welcome, encouraged even. Photographers, GoPro and drone pilots can get superb memories to share. Hot food and drink at the finish line. Limited shower facilities at the nearby caravan park. Ample car parking. You'll get a Goodie bag which may contain our personalised technical T-shirt next to the bag drop-off point.
Being able run 10km (6 miles) would be EXTREMELY BENEFICIAL
Our 7 mile hill ridden muddy river run is tailored to accomodate anyone with the will to finish but we'd like to be home before bedtime. You should never be left behind and we'll make sure you won't grit it out alone. Just be sure you're willing to work as hard as it takes. Be prepared!. Consider how you'd best like to approach nettles, deep mud, rocky ground, bramble, algae covered river stone, ooze, wild rose and other hazards whilst running, wading, crawling or slithering. You will be very wet, very quickly.
