Organiser's Description

Longtown Llanthony Races, Saturday 22nd May

Introduction

Two races will be held on the same day with different start times.  Both races are category AM partially-marked fell races on the same course and will be held under WFRA race rules. Entry fee £6.00.

The course itself is a new course which has been modified from the 2 previous events.  Course length 12.6 km, height gain 670 m.  The course map will be sent out with the race briefing.

You have chosen to enter the race starting at 12 pm.

Registration

On-line only.  First come, first served.  Entry deadline is Thursday 20th May.  There will be 2 separate races, you may only enter one race.  Each race will have a maximum of 30 runners.  All race numbers will be sent out electronically to competitors beforehand.  Competitors must print out and bring their race number and own pins.

General Coronavirus restrictions

Before attending the race, all participants, officials and volunteers and spectators* must self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms:

·         A high temperature

·         A new, continuous cough

·         A loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste

If you have one or more of these symptoms you should not attend the event, and must follow NHS and PHE guidance on self-isolation.

Please do not attend the event if you have had recent contact with anyone who has displayed any of the above-symptoms in the 10 days prior to the race.

In accordance with current NHS Test and Trace guidance we will keep records of all runners and staff for 21 days and provide data to NHS Test and Trace if requested.

*No spectators to attend the event please unless they are providing essential transport.

Specific control measures

Car parking – Please use the allocated car park only for the period of the race and then depart. Maintain a social distance from others in the car park.

Toilets only will be available (maximum 2 people at a time), no access to showers or other indoor space other than for emergencies.

No registration on the day.  All race numbers will be sent out electronically to competitors beforehand.  Competitors must print out and bring their race number and own pins.

Pre-start assembly in start field maintaining social distancing from other runners.  A written briefing will be sent out beforehand, only a very limited race brief on the day.

Other than at the start line, no clusters of more than 6 runners outdoors please before and after the event.

Whilst running, please do not ‘draft’ other runners, either overtake clearly with a shout or maintain a social distance.

There will be no prize giving after the event. Individual bottled water will be provided to competitors after the event, please keep your bottle with you at all times or dispose of in bins provided.  Do not leave bottles unattended. Please depart the event promptly taking any litter with you.

Each race will have its own set of results which will be published on the Welsh Fell Running Association facebook page.

In the event of race postponement due to a local lockdown, entrants will be emailed and a message posted on the Welsh Fell Runners Facebook page.  All entries will be carried forward to the re-scheduled event(s).
