Loch Leven Virtual Half Marathon
30 Nov 18
Welcome To The Loch Leven Virtual Half Marathon
The Loch Leven Virtual Half Marathon gives you the unique opportunity to participate in a half marathon at your leisure around one of the most scenic routes in the area. By taking part you'll receive either a bespoke medal, a t-shirt or you can just run for fun to get your name on the leader board and gift your entry as a donation to help raise some much needed funds for the local RSPB at Vane Farm.
It also gives Kinross Road Runners the chance to use up it's excess medals and t-shirts from it's very popular road race for a worthy cause and help the environment by putting them to good use. All funds raised (minus postage & packaging) will be donated to the RSPB at Vane Farm.
The route will start and finish at Loch Leven's Larder. Starting on the new parkrun course, you then turn left onto the Heritage Trail and continue clockwise around the loch. The route finishes once again on the new parkrun course in front of the Larder. You can also run the route in reverse if you wish, as long as you complete the 13.1 miles.
You can do this solo or with friends. You can run it fast, slow or even walk if you wish. As long as you complete the route between now and the end of October and you fill out the completion form, you'll receive your chosen medal or t-shirt through the post. You can also take advantage of the location by treating yourself to tea and cake from the Larder to celebrate your achievement.
You'll be able to follow the leader board and other competitors on the LLVHM Facebook page where you'll be able to post pictures and share your experience of running around the loch.
Medals, T-Shirts, Donations
There are several limited options to run the Loch and get recognition for doing so. You can choose one of our bespoke medals. Choose a t-shirt (sizes are limited in number) or you can choose to run for the kudos and warm glow of it and give entry fee as a donation. Remember all funds raised will be going to the RSPB at Vane Farm.
Virtual Race Start
As this is a virtual event you can do it any time you wish and with who you want. The only rules being, you run/walk the official route, you complete it by the end of October when the virtual race closes and you fill out the completion form to register your time.
Virtual Race Entry
You enter the virtual race just like any other event on Entry central. As we have limited medals and t-shirt sizes, you need to make your choice from the drop down menu during registration. Once completed we'll then confirm your entry and choice of t-shirt or medal, if they are still available. No funds are taken until we confirm your choice is still available. If your choice is no longer available, then we decline your entry to avoid you being disappointed with your choice and you can re-enter with a different option.
