Killearn 10k: 2021 Special k

30 May 2021 - 05 Jun 2021

This Festival is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

Killearn 10k: Special k

BACKGROUND

The Killearn 10k and Killearn Mile are one of the highlights of the G63 summer. We were thwarted in 2020 but refuse to be so in 2021. We’re back, we’re doing it differently, and we’re letting more people join the fun.

The Killearn 10k will go ahead as a virtual event. You can sign up for that at EntryCentral.

But, because we missed you all last year, we’ve decided we want to see more locals than normal out pounding the streets in the weeks leading up to the first Saturday in June. So, this year we are hosting a special event for locals only; The Killearn 10k: Special k.

WHAT IS THE K10Sk?

The Killearn 10k: Special k is an accumulator event. You can sign up as an individual or in a team of 4 people, and you compete with other individuals/teams to see who can accumulate most kilometres across the week.

You can accumulate kilometres by running, jogging, walking (even crawling is allowed) or a mixture of these. You cannot cycle, drive or fly!

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • 1st individual 20y +
  • 1st individual 16 +
  • 1st over 16 team (16y +)
  • 1st mixed age team (5y +)

Please see below for age-specific distance restrictions.

You can use your Killearn 10k kilometres in your totals if you are participating in the K10k as well.

WHEN

The K10Sk will start on Sunday 30th May (00:01) and finish on Saturday 5th June 2021 (23:59).

You need to lodge your daily distance totally with us before 12 noon on Sunday 6th June.

We will ask team captains for prize contender teams to verify the team’s weekly distance by submitting their training logs.
