ENTRY TO THIS RACE HAS NOW CLOSED
Now in its THIRD YEAR, this event is being held to raise funds to support Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Trust, Gateside, Ayrshire. It is run over a flat, fast course with every opportuntiy to set a PB time.
At least £10 of each entry fee will be donated to Hessilhead.
Location: the 10k race will be held on quiet paths along the side of Castle Semple Loch and on the cycle path towards Kilbarchan. The surface is a mixture of tarmac and hardcore and is almost entirely flat.
Registration: is from 6.15pm outside the Visitor Centre at Castle Semple with the race start a few metres away on the adjacent cycle path. The 10k race is restricted to 150 runners and online entries close at midnight on Tuesday 8 August. The race starts at 7.15pm.
10k race: SAL/UKA Registered £12, Others £14 (including £2 levy to Scottish Athletics). The race is open to runners aged 16 years or older.
10k Race limited to 150 runners.
Prizes: There are no formal prizes, but spot prizes may be offered.
Results: will be lodged on the race Hessilhead 10k Facebook page shortly after the end of the race and thereafter on the SAL website.

Head north-east along the railway for 1k, turn right to the side of the loch and run to Visitor Centre, passing along the side of the car park and up (short climb) onto the railway and back to the start line before running c3k on the railway to the turn. Return on the railway and at c9k drop left onto the side of the loch again and along to the finish at the visitor centre.
